Due to an extremely poor feature/bug in the default setup of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5+, we have been forced to pad this error page with a rather large and somewhat redundant comment. If an error page like this is returned and it's less than 1K long (which this one isn't any more :-) ), then MSIE 5+ decides to completely ignore it and displays its own error page instead!

Needless to say, it is completely wrong of any browser to behave like this, but Microsoft have shown no inclination to change this default behaviour, even in their latest MSIE 5.5 and 6 releases, meaning that several hundred thousand sites' error pages will never be displayed in MSIE 5.X.

You can do three things - complain to Microsoft (requires registration at www.microsoft.com because they have no feedback forms or e-mail addresses visible on their Web site !), turn off the 'Friendly HTTP Errors' in MSIE 5.X (Tools/Internet Options/Advanced - then restart your browser after changing the setting) or use a different browser (e.g. Netscape or Opera).
